Are we covered to screen THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST?
YES! The Passion of The Christ is an Icon Production, and under The Big Studio Movie License, you are covered for films from this studio.
Why do we need a license?
When you purchase or hire a movie on DVD, the film is being made available to you for 'home use only' as per the copyright warnings at the beginning. You therefore need a separate license to cover you for any public screenings. THE BIG STUDIO MOVIE LICENSE will legally cover you to screen movies in a public setting at your nominated address.
Aren't we already covered?
While there are existing licensing products available in our region, there are none that cover the BIG STUDIOS like Walt Disney, Warner Bros and Sony plus the huge catalogue covered locally by Roadshow Films, Icon, Hopscotch and Hoyts Ditstribution. So unless you have THE BIG STUDIO MOVIE LICENSE you aren’t covered for screenings of movies from these studios.
Can we promote the movies we're screening?
Feel free to promote details of the movie you are screening. The only request we make is that you don't take out any public advertising such as newspaper advertising, electronic media or street signage.
What if we have multiple sites?
THE BIG STUDIO MOVIE LICENSE is a license that covers you for movie screenings at a nominated address. When you take it out you are covered for screenings at the address on your license. If your church has multiple places where it meets on a regular basis, you will require a license for EACH location. The license is site specific.
Can we hold fund raising events using movies from THE BIG STUDIO MOVIE LICENSE?
Sorry, but you can’t charge people entry for the films we are covering in our license. But having said that, we can work with you on lots of ideas around using films as fund raising events so contact us to find out more. It can be lots of fun and work really well for all involved.
How is this different to your FLICKS AT YOUR BRICKS program?
Our FLICKS AT YOUR BRICKS program is where we offer premium new release films for you to screen locally. This program involves a small license fee per person in attendance – reported and paid after your movie event. You can find out more about this exciting program here.
Do we have to report back to you about the movies we screen?
No.
